2010 OLYMPICS AT SQUAMISH AIRPORT

Operating Information
During the period January 29 to March 31, 2010, use of the Squamish Municipal Airport is to be undertaken with caution.   All existing regulations governing the use of an unregistered aerodrome continue to be in effect.  Operators should check for NOTAMs for closures (i.e. snow removal, icing) prior to flight planning to Squamish.

Squamish Media Centre Available February 1 – 28, 2010

In order to facilitate and coordinate media inquiries in Squamish during the 2010 Olympic Games, Tourism Squamish in cooperation with the District of Squamish will operate a Media Centre based out of the Squamish Adventure Centre, effective February 1, 2010.
The Squamish Media Centre will be available to working media during the 2010 Olympic Games, February 1 – 28, 2010. It will be open as follows:
February 1-11 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
February 12- 28 8:00 am –8:00 pm

Extra Buses at Brennan Park for Torch Relay

Extra buses are scheduled to leave Brennan Park at 7:45 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2010.

The Squamish Emergency Program (SEP) is a volunteer community-based Search and Rescue (SAR) and Emergency Social Services (ESS) team.

Its members are from all walks of life but share a common interest in providing an important life-saving service to the Squamish area residents and visitors, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
