Training Innovations Inc. (Tii) has over 20 years of experience designing and delivering employment programs in British Columbia, and has been active in Squamish since 2001. Tii is the Sea to Sky service provider for the Employment Program of BC which is funded by the Province of BC and the Government of Canada. We offer WorkBC Employment Services Centre services in the heart of downtown Squamish in the Cornerstone building, and in Function Junction in Whistler.
We offer an array of no cost community-based employment services to meet the needs of job seekers and local businesses. The following are just a few of our services: job search resources, personal employment planning, workshops, Wage Subsidy Work Experience Placements, Job Creation Partnerships, job posting distribution, and access to HR trends and labour market information.
Services are delivered in a way to ensure that everyone in our community has access to the supports and services they need to find and keep a job. We work closely with local employers, government, educational institutions, and community agencies to understand and respond to labour market needs, and to increase employment opportunities within our community. We are always seeking innovative ways to support learning and skills development in Squamish, and we welcome the opportunity to assist local organizations and institutions to better understand labour market trends and training needs in the Sea to Sky Corridor.
We pride ourselves in keeping our fingers on the pulse of the local labour market. We have seen a steady demand for skilled trades, food and beverage, and sales/service staff, and an increased demand for health care workers, as compared to previous years. Considering the recent developments breaking ground in Squamish, including the Sea to Sky Gondola, the demand for skilled trades workers is expected to continue.
To address skilled labour shortages we offer the following:
AspectTargeted Skills Shortage Program (www.tsspbc.com)
WorkBC Centres (www.WorkBCCentres.ca)
Tii also offers the Skills Connect for Immigrants Program (www.skillsconnectbc.com) helps recent immigrants put their experience to work in BC.
For mature workers, the Encore Employment Program (www.encorebc.com) supports life-long learning through career exploration, skill development, and individualized on-the-job training opportunities.
We are also pioneers in the field of online career services, and have developed our own technology to facilitate e-learning and career development. To actively support and promote the use of technology for learning and career development we recently established a consulting division, MixtMode (www.mixtmode.ca)to help individuals and organizations create impactful, results-oriented career e-learning experiences.
