Mount Garibaldi Cemetery is municipally operated and is located at 44500 Government Road. The District of Squamish offers the following services:
The works and procedures for Mount Garibaldi Cemetery are regulated by Cemetery Bylaw 1532,2003. District Staff are also regulated under the Cremation, Interment and Funeral Services Act and the Business Practices & Consumer Protection Act of BC.
Residents and non-residents are welcome in our cemetery. District staff require three working days’ notice to complete the paperwork and confirm arrangements for all interments. Weekend interments result in a weekend overtime fee, as we do not have staff scheduled to work during most weekends.
There are two tiers of fees relating to the purchase or reservation of plots: residents and non-residents, with non-residents fees being the higher of the two.
If you are inquiring about a loved one who may be interred or would like information regarding Mount Garibaldi Cemetery, please contact the Development Services Department at (604) 815-5012 and one of the clerks will assist you.
If you would like to donate a memorial bench within Squamish, please contact the District Operations Parks Department for more information. The Parks Supervisor can assist you with the procedure that includes the design, location of the bench installation, plaque and applicable fees.
The onsite Columbarium located within the cemetery is privately run. District staff do not maintain or offer services in relation to the Columbarium. Please contact the Squamish Funeral Chapel for information.
Commercial Filming: Filming is not permitted in Mount Garibaldi Cemetery.
