3D Renderings

The following renderings provide an example of what an upgraded and renovated Brennan Park Recreation Centre could look like.

What is the timeline on this project? I apologize if it is listed on the website. I could not find it. It seems pretty quiet since 2018.

Hello David, the District is actively seeking external funding (grants) to help fund the Brennan Park Recreation Centre upgrades. This is all part of a bigger Real Estate and Facilities Master Plan, which you can learn more about here: https://squamish.ca/yourgovernment/projects-and-initiatives/facilities/

I have worked in many different small communities in Western Canada where there is a large industry or business associated with the town. I noticed these towns often have their rec centers sponsored by businesses or industry. Has there been any talk with Woodfibre, logging companies, mills, the port, or other business in town to invest in the community in this way? Maybe they could get there name on a part of the building (eg: Woodfibre Arena)

Has any consideration been put towards a full size gymnasium(s) where drop in time, intramural sports, leagues, and other activities could be held? (Basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, badminton, etc.). Also, many community rec centers often have squash and racquetball courts, has any thought been put towards including these? I know there is a squash Club but I think there is huge value in having low barrier sports options apart of our rec center and activities for our youth and people in our community.
I think these things would be a hugely beneficial to a wide range of people in Squamish from our youth to older adults and provide an indoor place for activities and community on dark rainy days.
