Backyard Burning

Backyard burning is permitted twice a year: one week in the spring and one week in the fall. Squamish Fire Rescue will announce beforehand what the dates will be.

Backyard burning permits are available at a cost of $10.00 during permitted burning periods in the spring and in the fall. During these times the burning of dry garden debris will be permitted, provided a burning permit has been obtained from Squamish Fire/Rescue located at 40439 Tantalus Road. Office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

We would like to remind residents that those persons who repeatedly violate Fire Service Bylaw #2040 will be invoiced for the cost of staff attending complaints.
