Based on the latest draft of the 2015 - 2019 Financial Plan Report, a 3.6% increase in revenues from property taxes is needed.  View an overview of the 3.6% increase and what it means for taxpayers.

RE Biennale funding from District taxpayers: Why are we paying artists from out-of-town, out-of-country for Public Art in Squamish when we have so many talented local artists -- including in the Squamish Nation community? For example, a few years ago a locally born, raised and nurtured artist instructed local youth to make the tile mosaic art which is right across from Municipal Hall in Stan Clarke Park. Programs and funding to give opportunity to and nurture the talents of local artists should be the priority in Public Art investment for Squamish.

The cost of the RCMP detachment here is absolutely outrageous. For our community to spend this amount on "Protective services" is completely out of balance. Please start taking control of these costs this year.

    Dear Mayor and Council:
I am writing in support of funding the light installation at Hendrickson fields. I have lived in Squamish over 40 years and have been playing ball since a youth... over 30 years. Ball is a major pastime for many Squamish residents. Lighting the fields will be a huge benefit to many people! The Squamish Slopitch Association and members and fans have been raising funds for this project for many years and it is my understanding that we have up to $150,000 to contribute towards this much needed project. I urge you, the council, to proceed and let us get the lights up! This could be a win/win situation for all as use on elementary fields may be freed up, the possibility of more tournaments, as well as other user groups that may be able to use the lights. There is a clear need to get these lights up and considering The Squamish Slopitch Association has such a major amount to invest I think its time to realize how serious we are! Lets do the right thing here! Thank You.

I strongly support lights at the Hendrickson fields as a long time resident it would be a great investment to improve on the sports facilities for our local community members. This is one area where local citizens use these fields on a regular basis and it would be put to exceptional use by opening more play time on the fields. It is time to step up and invest in our community and improve on our current facilities.

As a long time member of this community I have had the pleasure of living in Squamish for over 40 years now and playing slo pitch for over 25 years now. With all the hard work the Slo pitch executive and members have done to raise over $150,000 that will go towards the lights at Hendrickson Fields I urge you to help us and make this a reality. There has been a lot of hard work done by all the volunteers which live and play in Squamish. This will be a great benefit to all the user groups who use the fields at Brennan Park and Hendrickson Fields. This project will help take the pressure off the field users as well and will open up more time on the fields . Thank you Paul Dosanjh Squamish Slo Pitch Association President.

I am strongly in favour for lights at Hendrickson. This will open up so many more opportunities for this community such as hosting bigger tournaments with more teams which will draw more people to the community to stay and see what else we have to offer. The lights could also be used for other events and entertainment during the off season.
More scheduled games for the adult slow pitch association Also means less people playing on other school fields and more games can be played in one area .

I am in favor of lights at Hendrickson! During the fall season we seem to run out of light before we can finish our games! Adding lights would open up more playing time which would free up our local school fields for other organized sports!
The lights would also help reduce injuries, as soon as the sun sets it becomes very hard to see, and accident happen.
The lights would also be an added bonus for the squamish live event!

I am strongly in favor of installing lights at Hendrickson ball fields. I think this would improve the use of this facility and free up school fields. Thanks

Lights at Hendrickson is a must! It has been on the table for far to long and it's time to move forward. It would benefit all field user groups not just slopitch! There is a huge shortage of playing time on Brennan Park Diamonds for ball leagues, including Howe Sound Minor Ball, and dangerous school fields are not an option anyone wishes to risk. I fully support lights at Hendrickson.
