Financial Services oversees the financial operation of the District of Squamish. The Department provides financial information and advice to Council, other District departments and information to the general public. The department also administers property taxes and utilities.

The Planning department is responsible for the long-range planning that establishes and evolves the regulations, policies and strategies for building the community physically, socially and economically. The department also processes development applications and permits, rezoning and variances.
The Building department manages new building permits, renovation and tenant improvements, Board of Variance applications, new and renewed business licences, and sign permits.

Engineering and Operations is responsible for the utility infrastructure, facilities, parks, public works and environmental programs for the community. Services include maintenance of roads, bike paths and sidewalks, transit, water, sewer and solid waste utilities, infrastructure planning, capital projects, geographic information systems, cemetery services, fleet maintenance, park operations, and flood protection and dyke maintenance.
