At this time the trails are not being closed, however it is recommended that until further notice, this area be avoided. If you choose to use the trails, keep dogs on leash and make noise i.e. use your voice to avoid surprise encounters. If you do encounter any bear: stop, stay calm and back away slowly. Talk calmly and never run or turn your back on the bear.

Report any sightings to the Conservation Officer Service 24 hour hotline at: 1-877-952-7277 (RAPP).

The Conservation Officer Service is monitoring the situation very closely. Stay tuned for further updates.
