Cleveland Avenue Streetscape Upgrades

COMPLETED!

This spring, the District undertook phase one of a planned two-phase upgrade to Cleveland Avenue between Victoria Street and Main Street. Phase one included streetscape and infrastructure upgrades from Victoria Street to the Squamish Arts Council building, including:

  • Seven new LED lighting fixtures replacing three old ones
  • New trees
  • Decorative concrete sidewalk and landscaping areas
  • Watermain replacement
  • Storm infrastructure replacement
  • New curb, gutter and sidewalk on both sides of street
  • Improved connection between parks
  • Improved sidewalk connection to the Squamish Arts Council building
  • Branded crosswalk markings

Traffic Impact
Vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists includes should expect short delays and single lane alternating traffic.

Timeframe
Week of April 11 through the end of June.

This project supports Council's strategic priorities to:

  1. Maximize Built Environment: the built (man-made) environment/surroundings contribute to the health and well-being of our citizens.
  2. Economic Development: revitalization of downtown.
