Events Traffic Impact Information

More than 4,500 cyclists are expected to participate in the RBC GranFondo ride from Vancouver and Whistler on Saturday, September 7. 

Motorists should expect possible delays of up to three hours between West Vancouver and Whistler from  5:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Intermittent delays and full closures can be expected on Highway 99 from Valley Drive to Depot Road between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.:

  • Highway 99 at Cleveland Avenue and Loggers Lane – Traffic signals will be flashing. There will be no traffic access to Loggers Lane from Highway 99 at Cleveland Avenue or Industrial Way.  Motorists are advised to use Centennial Way underpass to Loggers Lane between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
  • Highway 99 from Valley Drive to Depot Road – Traffic signals will be flashing and traffic movements, both to and from the east side of Highway 99, will be restricted and or closed. Garibaldi Highlands traffic impacts include Scott Crescent NB (North of Clark Drive), Mamquam Road WB (West of Diamond Head Road), Garibaldi Way WB (West of Tantalus Rd), and Depot Road WB (East of Hwy 99). For all of the locations mentioned, motorists are advised of the following times:
    • 8 to 8:30 a.m. Intermittent delays
    • 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Full closure
    • 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Intermittent delays

Squamish Transit alerts for Route 1 Brackendale/Downtown, Route 2 Highlands and Route 3 Valleycliffe:

Routes 1 Brackendale/Downtown and 2 Highlands/Downtown will be operating on modified routes between 8:30 and 11 a.m. Route 1 will not cross the highway, but will remain on Government Road to Brackendale. Route 2 will remain in Garibaldi Highlands and Garibaldi Estates and will not continue on to Downtown Squamish. 

Route 3 Valleycliffe will not operate between 8:30 and 11 a.m.
