WHAT WE DO
Our mandate is to enforce the District’s bylaws, making our community safer and a more enjoyable place to live, work and play. Enforcement isn't always heavy handed. Mostly we educate the public about bylaws and regulations, and work with alleged offenders to gain voluntary compliance to remedy any contraventions. If voluntary compliance is not achieved, we will seek more formal legal remedies.
Our dedicated staff and officers work with District departments and community partners such as police, social agencies, community groups and other levels of government to promote and maintain Squamish as a safe community to live in and visit.
