The District of Squamish is taking part in Emergency Preparedness Week, a national week-long event designed to help Canadians protect themselves and their families during major emergencies and natural disasters. 

Get Involved:

  • Learn to respond to and recover from floods, wildfire, earthquakes and other disasters as well as how to reduce possible damage to your property at the Public Workshop and Evacuation Presentation, Thursday, May 5, 7 - 8:30 p.m. at the Squamish Public Library

  • Ride in the Shake Zone, a mobile earthquake simulator, and connect with local emergency services and agencies that work to keep the community of Squamish safe at the Emergency Preparedness Fair, Thursday May 12, 12 - 6 p.m. at Brennan Park Recreation 
  • Purchase an Emergency Kit at the Emergency Preparedness Fair for $25. Proceeds benefit the Howe Sound Women’s Centre.
  • Visit your vet or Squamish Animal Control to pick your Pet Disaster Recipe Card and learn how to care for your pet in an emergency or evacuation.
