A variety of co-mingled materials are accepted in the curbside recycling totes, including cardboard, boxboard, mixed papers, plastic containers and domestic metals (tin and aluminum cans).
Residents are provided with a 246 litre (65 gal) tote for recycling. GFL Environmental (604.892.5604) can provide a larger tote size at an additional cost.
Tips for proper recycling:
Do not bundle, bag or otherwise contain your recyclables, with the exception of shredded paper (contain in a separate paper bag within the tote).
Clean and rinse all containers.
Remove the lids from containers and put them loose in your recycle tote.
Glass, styrofoam, plastic bags and overwrap/film are not part of the curbside recycling program. All styrofoam and plastic bags, overwrap/film and any glass that cannot be returned for a refund can be dropped off at GFL Environmental Recycling Centre, London Drugs or the Squamish Landfill.
Glass and other items that can be returned for a refund can be taken to the Bottle Depot.

ACCEPTABLE & NOT ACCEPTABLE RECYCLING MATERIAL: CURBSIDE PICK-UP
** Please do not place glass in your curbside recycling tote, as broken glass mixed with the paper products significantly contaminates the recycling efforts of all.
