Pitch-In Week

clean sweep

April 22 to 29, 2019

PITCH IN! It's time for a Spring Cleaning!

The District of Squamish is once again taking part in Pitch-In Week, Canada's largest environmental improvement campaign. Pitch-In Week is a great opportunity for residents, students, or community groups to get together and clean up our community.

Sign-up individually or organize a group from your work or neighbourhood to do a clean-up. We welcome everybody to come out and meet your neighbours, and volunteer together to clean up part of our community.

How can you participate?

Registration for 2019 Community Cleanup days is now open! Roll-up your sleeves and sign up your team!

  • The District of Squamish will supply gloves and garbage bags for all registered cleanup events.
  • After the clean up, full bags can be dropped off at the Squamish Landfill, free of charge (the tipping fee waiver must be presented at the landfill scale hut and is only valid the week of).
  • The District recommends sorting out bottles and cans, they can be brought to the Bottle Depot or deposited in the appropriate bin at the landfill.
  • All electronics (electronics, TVs, peripherals and cords) can be brought to the Squamish Bottle Depot to be recycled for free.
  • Wondering where other random items can be recycled in town? Check out the list on What Goes Where.
