Municipal Campground

Updated December 2, 2020:

The Municipal Campground is closed for the season as the site is unsuitable for winter use.

Outreach workers from Squamish Helping Hands and Sea to Sky Community Services have been engaged since the winter closure was announced at the end of October, providing information, service connections and necessities for those willing to accept it. The District of Squamish is continuing its advocacy with BC Housing to try to secure support for the eligible occupants of the remaining campsites that have not yet vacated the campground.

Don’t you think it would be a good idea to open this if the town keeps composing about people parking on the street or logging road

When the campground does in fact open up for the season, how much are the sites per night per person? Thanks!

Hello Dwaine. The District is still reviewing the feasibility of reopening the camp site. We should have more of a definitive answer in a couple of weeks.

Hello Riley. The District is currently in the process of exploring policy work to respond to the influx of seasonal campers, and we expect to be able to provide more information in the coming weeks.

Just wondering about reserving for the May long weekend? I have a course there during that time.

Hi Randy. There are no confirmed opening plans for the campground at this time and reservations are not currently being taken. This page will provide updates to the community when there is new information available.

Where was the public consultation prior to giving away this public land for this particular cause? The campground has quickly started its descent into chaos and local residents are left living next door to this garbage dump with the district pretending nothing ever happened.

Hello, How much is the municipal campground per month if I am not a recipient of CERB? Thanks!

How rustic are these camp sites? Are there any washrooms or showers? There's no mention about these facilities anywhere in your description above. Are these for self-contained RV's only? You've posted all kinds of rules and regulation, but very little in the way of a description of the features of the campsite.

Hi Jay. Thanks for your message! We will update the page with information about the campground facilities. The campground has port-a-toilets and potable water at common taps. There are no power or water hook ups and no sani-dump. Hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please contact Brennan Park Recreation Centre at 604.898.3604.
