Policies
Policies are clear, simple statements about how the District intends to conduct its services, actions or business. Policies provide a set of guiding principles to help with decision making for Council and Staff, and are often accompanied by procedures that direct Staff on how to implement the policy. There are two types of policies:

  • Legislative Policies are approved by Council and include functions legislated by the Local Government Act and/or relate to services, actions and forms of municipal business such as grants, permitting, and public works' services
  • Administrative Policies are approved by the Chief Administrative Officer and typically relate to the administration of the municipal corporation such as purchasing, emergency management, and staffing.
