John French

Born and raised in Squamish, John French graduated with honours from Howe Sound Secondary School in 1987.

After training to work in the broadcast industry, he was hired for his first radio job in Fort Nelson then went on to work at radio stations in Fort St. John, Parksville and Mountain FM in 1990. Until 2002 he ran the radio newsroom and hosted the lunchtime talk show called Mountain Monitor while raising his son and daughter with his wife.

After moving on from Mountain FM he worked at The Squamish Chief and Pique Newsmagazine. Most of his working life has been spent working as a journalist and communications specialist.

John currently works with Pacific West Systems Supply providing construction materials to local companies.

When he isn't working you will see him running and cycling on trails around Squamish.
