Another heat wave has settled over Squamish - stay safe with these tips

Another heat wave has settled over our area. Environment Canada is forecasting above normal temperatures through the rest of the week.

Protect yourself, children and pets with these hot weather tips from Vancouver Coastal Health:

Children and pets should never be left alone in a parked car where temperatures can rise to dangerously high temperatures within minutes.

Extreme heat can lead to heat-related illnesses such as sunburn, heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat/sun stroke. These illnesses are especially likely to occur in the elderly and people with chronic conditions who are exposed to the heat. For more information on heat-related illness, please call BC HealthLink at 811, or visit BC Center for Disease Control.
