BC Transit and District of Squamish announce free summer weekend transit service

BC Transit and the District of Squamish are announcing free summer weekend transit service on all routes and the reinstatement of the seasonal transit route to South Squamish Parks, both starting on June 16, 2019.

The complimentary weekend service will be provided to transit users thanks to funding from the Sea to Sky Gondola.

The route 5 South Parks is continuing service after a successful 2018 pilot project, which allowed Squamish residents and visitors to take the bus to the South Squamish Parks.

Route 5 South Parks will include:

  • Connections from downtown Squamish to Shannon Falls, the Sea to Sky Gondola and the Stawamus Chief
  • Sea to Sky Gondola annual pass holders to ride the route for free
  • Service seven days a week

Free summer weekend service on all routes will run between June 16 and September 2, 2019, on Saturdays, Sundays and statutory holidays.

For more information on fares, routes and schedules please visit Squamish Transit. You can also use NextRide to see where your bus is in real-time.
