@Squamishtown new Twitter handle for District of Squamish

The District of Squamish has launched a Twitter account to further engage with the community through this important two-way channel. The District can be followed @Squamishtown.

“Extending our social media reach onto Twitter provides another important opportunity for us to communicate with our residents in the channels that they are using to access information,” says District of Squamish Mayor Rob Kirkham. “Our wide range of communications tools – from the more traditional approaches to being present on social networks, enables us to create stronger connections with residents as well as provide important avenues for feedback.”

Expanding into Twitter was a logical next step for the District, and is part of the ongoing evolution of its communications tools – both online and traditional. Various communications channels designed to meet the needs of all residents are available to stay connected to District news and information:

The District will tweet about news, information, events and notifications from all District departments, and looks forward to connecting with a wide range of people in the Twittersphere.
