Heather Boxrud joins District of Squamish as Chief Financial Officer

The District of Squamish is pleased to introduce Heather Boxrud as Chief Financial Officer, effective Monday, May 4. In addition to providing strategic financial leadership in this key senior role, Boxrud will lead the District’s Financial Services Department on all financial functions including reporting, accounting, departmental budgeting, revenue collection and control.

Heather joins the District from Tourism Whistler where she led the direction in the areas of fiscal stewardship, corporate governance and risk management in her role as Vice President, Finance and Operations.

"We are very excited to welcome Heather to our senior leadership team,” says District of Squamish Mayor Karen Elliott. “Heather is known for her energetic and collaborative leadership style, and brings an extensive financial and technology systems expertise to the District that will help to further shape our long-term financial vision and strategies.” 

Heather will be relocating to Squamish to take on this role. 

“I am thrilled to be joining the exceptional team at the District of Squamish," says Boxrud. "I look forward to leading the financial stewardship of the municipality on behalf of Council and the community of Squamish.”

    Great hire, someone who has participated in Whistler's growth will now lead Squamish to a similar transformative goal !
