Heavy rain and strong winds expected for Howe Sound beginning Sunday, November 25

Environment Canada has issued a significant weather notification for the South Coast of B.C., including Howe Sound, beginning Sunday, November 25. 

Currently, 50 to 150 mm of rain is expected between Sunday evening and Tuesday afternoon. Rainfall rates are expected to be 2 to 4 mm per hour, with higher rainfall rates of 8 to 10 mm per hour expected for Monday. Strong south-easterly winds of 70-90 km/h are also expected along exposed coastal sections on Sunday evening and Monday.

The BC River Forecast Centre is monitoring the situation closely; High Streamflow Advisories may be issued as the situation evolves.

Please exercise caution around waterways and watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
