New household recycling guide launched to help residents know what goes where

Did you know? A recent audit from July 2018 revealed that 45% of waste could have been composted and 31% could have been recycled through the curbside collection program or at a drop-off location.

The District of Squamish has launched a household waste diversion guide and Waste Wizard waste material look-up tool to eliminate the guesswork of what goes where.

Download the guide

Search for an item using the Waste Wizard tool available through the Squamish Curbside Collection app or at squamish.ca/collection-schedule.

Hello Phil and thanks for your message! We do have a Waste Wizard for Squamish which you can access via our Curbside Collection app or on our website here: https://squamish.ca/collection-schedule/
The default view is the Schedule view but you'll see Waste Wizard in the tab to the right.
Our Waste Wizard index includes hundreds of materials that you can view alphabetically, or you can enter a specific item in the space provided. If there is a material you don't see, let us know and we'll add it to the list.
Hope this is helpful, it's a great resource!
