The Arts, Culture and Heritage Strategy (ACHS) was endorsed by Council on July 21, 2020. The ACHS recognizes the need for comprehensive approaches to planning and programming in order to maximize the cultural life of the community. Squamish recognizes that arts, culture and heritage programs, services and resources play increasingly important roles in enhancing civic pride, defining a distinct community identity, and attracting the talent and investment needed for cities to grow and prosper in a creative and knowledge-based economy.
The ACHS process to date includes the below phases:
Phase 1: Research and Development
Phase 2: Broad Community Engagement
Phase 3: Stakeholder Engagement
Phase 4: Initial Draft for Council Feedback
Phase 5: Amended Draft for Council Feedback
Phase 6: Community Feedback on Draft
Phase 7: Endorsement

Beautiful initiative!
How about production and technology?
For example, the main branch of the Vancouver Public Library has sound recording booths that you can rent (for free with library membership) for 4hrs at a time.
Having accessible spaces to make music and other art forms is just as (if not more) important as venues to display.

It's been great to see things picking up in the departments of Arts & Culture in Squamish. All of the festivals and markets this year have been incredible. Not sure if this applies here but a movie theatre / bowling alley could somehow be incorporated with a theatre and could supply hours of entertainment for people / couples, parents looking for things to do.

Lets put Squamish on the map for arts and culture. There are so many incredible musicians/artists here, but with very few spaces to display their talents. Imagine an incredibly vibrant venue that showcases local talent as well as artists from far and wide. Let’s take this town to the next level!

We need a live, multi-use performance theatre for 500-800 people. Music, theater productions, ect. It would be AMAZING!

More arts and culture please!

Yes! Squamish is in need of a bigger multi purpose event space. Dance recitals, theatre shows and live music. A place like the Commodore in Vancouver... That would be amazing!

As a working musician based in Vancouver, and a B&B host, I can say a new venue in Squamish would be a highly prized destination. Arts and culture make communities buzz, and that attracts folks from everywhere.
