Landfill

Location, Hours, Contact and Key Information: 

The Squamish Landfill is located on Landfill Road in Brackendale off of Highway 99 opposite the Alice Lake exit.

The Recycle Depot is located before the Landfill weigh scale.

The Landfill only accepts waste originating from within the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District.

March–November Open daily 9 a.m.–5:45 p.m.
December 24 and 31 Open 9 a.m.–2:45 p.m.
December 25 and January 1 Closed

Have Multiple Material Types?

Please note that to receive the different material rates, you must tell the Scale Attendant and go over the scale separately for each material.  If you go over the scale and drop-off all the materials at once, you will be charged the highest tipping fee applicable for the entire load's weight.

Waste Diversion

Many items that are disposed of as garbage could have been reused or recycled. See below for the recyclable materials accepted at the Recycle Depot and Transfer Station. Visit the Waste Diversion page to learn what goes where.

The fine for illegal dumping of any waste anywhere within the District: $10,000 per occurrence per day.

In general, items are prohibited from being disposed of as garbage at the Landfill as there is an alternative disposal option that handles the material responsibly.
