Canadian Navigation Waters Act - Navigation Notice

District of Squamish hereby gives notice that a submission has been added to the Navigable Waters Registry pursuant to the Canadian Navigable Waters Act for public comment described herein and its site and plans. Pursuant to paragraph 10(1)(b) of the said Act,

District of Squamish has deposited with the Minister of Transport, on the on-line Common Project Search Registry (htp://cps.canada.ca/) and under registry number 11844, a description of the following work, its site and plans:

The nature of the works consist of the construction of a pedestrian active transport bridge over the Mamquam Blind Channel parallel and east of the Highway 99 Bridge between Rose Park Trail adjacent to the upland lot of 38220 Highway 99 (Squamish Adventure Inn) and Scott Crescent Road on the District Right of Way Adjacent to the upland lot 1500 Scott Crescent (Redbridge).

The proposed bridge has been designed to maintain clearance from the channel to that of the existing clearance of the Highway 99 bridge to ensure navigation for watercrafts including canoes, SUP’s and kayaks are not impeded on the waterway after construction. Addition details on the bridge design, construction methodology and how navigation on the waterway will be upheld is detailed in the on-line Common Project Search Registry.
