Parking Downtown

Parking signs are posted throughout Downtown Squamish to show where 2-hour parking applies in the heart of the business and shopping area.

• Always check street signs before parking

Longer-term parking with no hourly time limit is available:

• Outside the main commercial area
• In the gravel lot near the BC Hydro site at the north end of Downtown

These areas are ideal for downtown employees.

Free off-street parking lots

• 38174 Cleveland Ave – 2 hr parking
• 37950 Cleveland Ave (just south of the Copper Coil restaurant) – 3 hr parking
• East end of Main Street, near X̱wún̓eḵw Park – 3 hr parking. Currently closed due to construction. Expected re-opening: Summer 2026.

Before parking, check all signs and road markings.

• Drivers must follow provincial and municipal traffic rules
• Tickets may be issued without warning
• Vehicles may be towed without notice, when necessary

In the commercial area downtown, the primary goal of parking management is to encourage turnover to improve parking availability for business customers and clients. Currently turnover is achieved with a 2-hour parking zone as shown on the map above. Other important considerations are loading zones and accessible parking stalls.  

Parking Outside the Commercial Area

Outside the main downtown area, the main goal is to provide parking for:

• Downtown employees
• Visitors who want to park longer and explore Downtown on foot
• Local residents
