Special air quality statement issued for Howe Sound

Environment Canada has issued a special air quality statement for Howe Sound. Smoke is causing or expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility.
During a wildfire, smoke conditions can change quickly over short distances and can vary considerably hour-by-hour. People with pre-existing health conditions, the elderly, infants, children and sensitive individuals are more likely to experience health effects.
Public spaces such as the Squamish Public Library, The 55 Activity Centre or the Brennan Park Recreation Centre are open as indoor alternatives to staying at home.
Stay tuned to Environment Canada for the latest.
