Active Transportation Projects

Active transportation projects make it easier for people to walk, cycle, or travel using other forms of non-motorized transportation.

Upcoming Projects:

  • *Complete Separated pathway between École Squamish Elementary and Howe Sound Secondary - Construction is expected to begin late September
  • Portree Way path from Perth to Garibaldi Highlands Elementary: Please note there will be no parking on the south side of Portree Way during construction. 
  • *Complete Highway 99 underpass trail improvements at Pemberton Avenue 
  • Government Road sidewalk from Mamquam Elementary to Garibaldi Way - Traffic control will be in place during construction. 
  • *Complete Howe Sound Secondary bus pullout and trail along Buckley Avenue
  • Bus pads on Behrner Drive by Hilltop House

Traffic impact: Impacts during construction to traffic, trail users, and residents and business is expected to be minimal.


Timeframe: End of July through fall.
