Neighbourhood Impact
Access to businesses along the construction route will remain open throughout the construction (Watershed Grill, Republic Bicycles, Brackendale Bean, The Beehive, The Nest, Howe Sound Dance Academy, Petro Canada, Brackendale Auto Service).
Due to Brackendale’s high water table, dewatering pumps are required to run 24 hours a day during the project to lower the water level and allow work to take place. We recognize this will present noise issues. This is an unavoidable requirement.
Project Details
- Beginning at the south end, the first 500m of work will take place in the field east of Government Road; the second 500m will take place in the northbound lane of Government Road.
- Cycle lanes and parking will be affected during this first phase. Please watch for changing signage.
- Northbound traffic will be detoured via Eagle Run Drive, Meadow Avenue and Judd Road, through the second phase of the project. Southbound traffic will be maintained on the west lane of Government Road throughout the construction.
- Parking availability, bike lanes and some bus stops will be affected along the construction route at various stages of the project; updates will be shared on squamish.ca, the Chief Newspaper and temporary signage will be posted.
- No scheduled service outages are anticipated at this time.
