Loggers East Storm Sewer Upgrades
Overview
The District is upgrading storm sewer infrastructure in the Loggers East neighborhood to effectively manage heavier rainfall expected with climate change and accommodate growth.
Background/Project Information
An Integrated Stormwater Management Plan, completed by Urban Systems in 2020, identified a flooding risk in the Loggers East neighbourhood. Upgrades of the storm sewer system were recommended to mitigate the risk of flooding including the recommendation to construct new storm sewer along Finch Dive and Loggers Lane. The project has been divided into two phases as summarized below:
-
Phase 1: Storm Sewer Upgrades in 2025
-
-
This phase includes upgrading stormwater infrastructure including new storm sewer pipes, replacing existing culverts and installing new outlet structures on Finch Drive and Loggers Lane
-
-
Phase 2: Road Upgrades on Finch Drive in 2027
-
-
This phase is planned to be completed after the Eagle Mountain - Woodfibre Gas Pipeline Project which will include the installation of a new pipeline along this shared segment of Finch Drive
-
-
-
Road upgrades are planned to include a new sidewalk along the north side of Finch Drive as well as a new all ages and abilities multi-use-pathway along the south side of Finch Drive
-
Impacts of Construction
- Construction hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
- Residents should expect increased noise level and short-term traffic disruptions while work is underway.
