Arctic outflow warning issued for Howe Sound

Environment Canada has issued an arctic outflow warning for Howe Sound. Strong outflow winds and very cold wind chills are expected to continue through early this week.

An arctic ridge of high pressure over the BC Interior is forcing strong outflow winds through coastal inlets from the North Coast to Howe Sound. The arctic air and outflow winds will move further southwards and push through the lower Fraser Valley today. Bitterly cold conditions are expected persist into early this week.

Please be prepared for unusually cold temperatures and strong winds and continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.

To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.

More details on the alert are available here.
