Snow possible Monday

Snow may be on its way to #Squamish Monday according to an Environment Canada special weather statement as a frontal system approaches with modified arctic air in place for the south coast.

Modified arctic air will arrive over the south coast as a ridge of high pressure builds on Sunday. A frontal system will arrive over the south coast late Monday afternoon. The front combined with the modified arctic air in place will give potential to produce accumulating snow for neighbourhoods and roadways above 200 metres.

The front will move out of the region Tuesday morning.

As snow plows and salt trucks become a more familiar sight on our streets, crews are asking residents to please remove all basketball hoops, bike jumps and skateboard ramps from our roadways in order for snow and ice to be effectively removed. Thank you!

Stay tuned to Environment Canada for updates.
