Industrial Way Storm Interceptor Project

October 31, 2022 update: 
The Industrial Way Storm Interceptor project is scheduled to be wrapped up by third week of November. 

On November 7, construction will switch to the north side of Industrial Way. Two way traffic will be reopened at that stage. With condensed traffic flow, vehicles will be able to enter Highway 99 from Industrial Way.

The final phase of the Industrial Way project is underway. The Discovery Way Trail between Dentville and Industrial Way will remain closed for one more week as work is being completed.

Traffic Management Plan for November 7 to 14

October 12, 2022 update:  In November, work will take place on the north side of Industrial Way. Two-way traffic flow will be reopened, however north side traffic (east bound) will be closed.

Upgrades to the storm water system at the intersection of Industrial Way and Highway 99 will take place this summer and continue through early fall. Work includes installation of an oil grit separator (OGS).

The OGS captures hydrocarbons and grit from road run off and other sources for the Industrial Way storm water catchment. An OGS mitigates the risks of accidental oil spills entering the storm system. The receiving ditch is classified as a highly productive habitat, and protection of this sensitive habitat is a high priority for the District. This new infrastructure helps protect the environment and reduces future ditch rehabilitation.

Impacts: All traffic from Industrial Way onto Highway 99 will be detoured onto Discovery Way and Commercial Way. Traffic coming off Highway 99 onto Industrial Way will be reduced to one lane. Best efforts will be made to reopen this area as quickly as possible.

Discovery Trail is expected to be closed near Industrial Way for four weeks from approximately August 25 to September 26.  A detour route and signage will be in place for the Discovery Trail, near the work site. 

Timeline: Work is expected to complete the second week of November.
