Judd Road Watermain Upgrade

Upgrades to the watermain along Judd Road between Cottonwood Road and Government Road, as well as a small section on Eagle Run Drive is substantially complete.

Project Details:

  • The existing watermain was prioritized for replacement because of its age (1966).
  • This project helps the District meets the goal of replacing all existing asbestos cement watermains with safer PVC material.
  • Watermains were upsized from 6" to 8" to increase fire flows throughout the neighbourhood.

Cost: Approximately $850,000

Impacts:

  • Please expect delays and single-lane alternating traffic.
  • There will be no parking in the work zone during work hours.
  • To avoid delays, plan your route around the work areas whenever possible.
  • Expect construction noise during working hours.

Thank you for your cooperation while we complete this important infrastructure upgrade.

There is no adequate pedestrian or bicycle lane on this section of Judd. Will the opportunity be taken to improve this at the same time as watermain upgrade? Lower Judd was greatly improved when a main was upgraded there a few years ago. I hope it will be the same for upper Judd road.

      Hi Stéphane,

Thanks for your comment. The road will be paved in the spring and the temporary asphalt will be touched up by the contractor as soon as possible.

Now that utility upgrades are competed, when can we expect to see that bike lane added to Judd road? Judd road is quite rough right now with all the temporary paving where utility work was done. Can we expect that road to be repaved at he same time as the bike lanes?

      Hi Stéphane,

Thanks for your comment. Yes, there is a current plan to widen the road for a bike lane following the utility upgrades.
