How many charging stations are in Squamish?
Squamish has several public charging stations, including the fast charging station downtown, across from Municipal Hall. Various apps and websites feature the locations of the charging stations. Check out Plug Share’s interactive map for an up-to-date listing of local stations (www.plugshare.com)

How much does it cost to charge at the downtown DC Fast Charging Station?
Charging at the DC Fast Charging Station is currently provided free of charge. The Province of BC and BC Hydro have indicated a cost will be introduced in the future but details have yet to be announced.

Directional signage helps direct cars off the highway to charging locations.

Is Squamish a critical link in the network?
Yes, electric vehicles travelling from Vancouver to Whistler can now stop in Squamish and charge their vehicles 24 hours a day.

How big is the DC fast charging network?
The Squamish DC Fast Charging Station is part of the “West Coast Green Highway”. When all stations are installed, drivers can drive from Whistler to San Diego, California and have access to fast charging stations all along the route. Why was the new DC Fast Charging Station not installed on the highway?
Locating the new DC fast charging station downtown helps bring visitors to Squamish off the highway and through our downtown streets. Adjacent to the picturesque Stan Clarke Park, and steps away from food and beverage and retail outlets, this station’s location was strategically chosen to showcase Squamish Downtown to visitors.
