Project Engineer 1 - Development
We are seeking one permanent full-time and one temporary full-time Project Engineer 1 - Development to contribute to the effective operation of the Engineering Department by assisting with engineering, technical and administrative work related to the completion of a variety of engineering activities and projects. In this role, you will review land development applications and check for compliance against the District's Subdivision and Development Control Bylaw and MMCD specifications. If you have a Engineering degree, are registered or eligible to register as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and have related experience, this may be the opportunity for you!

The District is hiring multiple Engineering Technician Coordinators to perform technical work with a focus on supporting either Capital, Development, Infrastructure Planning or Transportation areas of the District's Engineering department. If you have a Technical School Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering Technology, Member of (or be eligible for membership) with the ASTTBC or Planning Institute of BC and ideally 8 years of related experience as an Engineering Technician, we want to hear from you!

The department is responsible for local government regulatory oversight of the Woodfibre LNG and FortisBC Eagle Mountain Pipeline projects. As the Project Engineer 2 for the team, you will be responsible for liaising with internal team members, project proponents, third party consultants and project regulators to ensure regulatory compliance of associated project permits and associated management plans against local bylaws, engineering specifications, and best practices. The Project Engineer 3 is responsible for coordinating and performing engineering, technical and administrative work related to the completion of a variety of engineering activities related to industrial development and civil infrastructure projects comprising the Major Projects – Industrial portfolio. The department is responsible for local government regulatory oversight of the Woodfibre LNG and FortisBC Eagle Mountain Pipeline projects, systems, programs, and projects. Specifically, the Project Engineer 3 works as a member of the MPI team and duties vary according to work assignment focusing on land development application design reviews against District bylaws and engineering specifications and delivering engineering projects that support the department's policy initiatives.
