Magee Road Fire Update - April 18, 10:26 a.m.

The BC Wildfire Service has posted its morning update on the #MageeRoadFire at the link below.

The fire is now 35% contained. There has been no growth in the fire and weather has cooperated. Crew assignments today include: complete extinguishing hotspots identified on valley bottom, complete helipads on north hillside and establish hoselay to direct attack where possible and to establish access and water delivery system on south flank slope.

Resources today include: 38 firefighters, 2 helicopters, 3 heavy equipment. Danger Tree Fallers are working with BC Hydro, who have brought in a team of 40 persons to restore power to the area. Lines are being worked on and some may be down on the road while this work is being conducted.
