Operations Update: River levels high but contained as storm peak passes
District of Squamish Operations Update: November 23, 2017, 10 a.m.
- All river levels are high, but contained.
- The tide peaked at 9:30 a.m.
- Harris, Dryden and Judd pump houses have flood gates closed, and pumps are all working well.
- Crews are out in full force on a variety of tasks:
- Inspection of all rivers, streams and creeks
- Maintenance of all pumps and gates
- Inspection of bridges
- Inspection of dikes
- Response to calls for service on a variety of storm-related issues
Based on current information, we believe the event to have peaked, but will update information if things change. Residents who may be experiencing flooding are asked to contact Municipal Hall at 604-892-5217, or the 24-hour emergency line outside of business hours at 604-815-4040.
