DP 391 - Aristotle Drive and Place (multiple lots)

An application has been received to construct single-family homes on 8 lots on Aristotle Drive and Place.  A wetland, approximately 6.7 hectares in size, is situated to the west of the subject properties.  The wetland is non-fish-bearing, but is connected to Mashiter Creek, a fish-bearing watercourse.  Also, a ditch is situated along Mamquam Road, and connected via surface flow to Ring Creek, a fish-bearing watercourse.  Therefore an environmental Development Permit for protection of riparian areas is required.  This permit regulates the distance between proposed development and watercourses, determines the size of the Streamside Protection and Enhancement Areas (SPEA), and determines measures to protect and maintain the integrity of the riparian area.
