Official Community Plan

After many months of visioning, policy review, drafting and continuous public engagement with hundreds of Squamish residents aged 8 to 80, the District of Squamish Official Community Plan (OCP) update process is nearly complete. The fourth and final phase began with the public release of the draft Squamish2040 Official Community Plan on December 1, 2017.

OCP Bylaw No. 2500, 2017 was given First Reading by the District of Squamish on December 12, 2017.

OCP Bylaw No. 2500, 2017 was given Second Reading as amended on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Click to view the staff report and Schedule A policies (with changes tracked).

A Public Hearing for OCP Bylaw No. 2500,2017 was held on Monday, March 12 and Tuesday, March 13. Click Here to view the Draft OCP Bylaw with schedules and the Electronic Public Hearing Package.

The April 17 Regular Business Meeting will be held at The 55 Activity Centre (1201 Village Green Way), at 6 p.m. At this meeting, Council will consider Third Reading of District of Squamish OCP Bylaw No. 2500, 2017. At Council’s discretion, the OCP Bylaw No. 2500, 2017 may be given Third Reading, or Council may decide to make changes. Any changes would require rescinding Second Reading of the bylaw, giving a new Second Reading and hosting a subsequent Public Hearing.
