New Adventure Hubs offer amenities to trail users to help mitigate neighbourhood and environmental impacts

Collaboration with School District 48 to offer parking is a pilot project

The District of Squamish has installed four Adventure Hubs near popular trailheads to offer off-street parking and washroom facilities, and to minimize neighbourhood and environmental impacts. Each hub is equipped with a bike tool station and porta potty, and three are equipped with a bike wash.

School District 48 has provided access to two school parking lots outside of school times to support the District of Squamish in this initiative. This is a pilot project to test whether the partnership will work for all parties.

“Squamish’s reputation as a world-class recreation hub continues to grow and we are mindful that our infrastructure must keep up to minimize the impact on area residents and our environment,” says District of Squamish Mayor Patricia Heintzman. “Our thanks to School District 48 for partnering with us on two of these hubs as having access to the school parking lots is a significant benefit.”
