Watermain Replacement
Purpose:
The District of Squamish will be replacing portions of existing watermain in four areas this spring and summer:
Timeline:
April to early November. Thanks for your ongoing patience as we complete this important work.
Project impact
- Work is now close to the highway underpass. Please be extra cautious in this area.
- Please expect single lane alternating traffic and exercise caution in the construction zone and near the rail crossing.
- No closures or service outages are anticipated at this time.

Pemberton Avenue Installation of approximately 385 metres of watermain under District roadway.
September 23 update:
- Temporary road markings are in place.
- Please exercise caution in the work zone.

The Boulevard - Complete Installation of approximately 40 metres of watermain under District roadway.
Watermain replacements will get underway on a portion of the Boulevard above Perth to the University Bridge (40 metres), and Friedel Crescent (500 metres). Although we aim for minimal disruptions, please expect minor traffic delays.

Friedel Crescent - June 20 through late October Installation of approximately 550 metres of watermain.
November 4 update:

Some areas are being left unpaved until final water tie-ins are
complete. 6 critical tie-ins began Friday, October 30 and will continue for the next two weeks.

No service interruptions are anticipated.

Expect night work on University Bridge and Friedel Crescent at
Lanark intersection.

Ayr Drive - Complete
Project scope: Installation of one Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) chamber including site improvements, electrical works and minor landscaping, and approximately 22 metres of watermain located under District roadway and gravel shoulder. Work at this site also includes the decommissioning of the existing Pressure Sustaining Valve.
Capilano Highways will be conducting this work beginning June 15. Notices have been delivered to affected residences.
Although we aim for minimal disruptions, please expect minor traffic delays.
