What's Proposed

Removing the Zoning Bylaw’s “rental unit maximum” limit for a development in the CD-69 Zone.
This would allow for an additional 42 rental units on Lot O of the Oceanfront.

Proposed Bylaw

FILE RZ000064: District of Squamish Phased Development Agreement Bylaw No. 2387, 2015, (Lot O Density Clarification Zoning Update) Amendment Bylaw No. 3222, 2026

Affected Lands

Oceanfront Peninsula lands within Comprehensive Development Zone No. 69 (CD-69), Squamish, B.C., as shown on the Location Map.

Proposed Amendments

The Phased Development Agreement (PDA) is a 20-year agreement with the developer, Matthews West Development Ltd, that expires in 2035 and secures certain zoning provisions, contained within the agreement. This PDA amendment proposes to delete the 207 rental unit maximum from the density regulations in the CD-69 zone. The overall density of 1.15 Floor Area Ratio (FAR) maximum for residential rental tenure use would not change. This would allow for an additional 42 rental units to be included as part of the development proposal on Lot O of the Oceanfront.
