Portion of Bailey Street Closed Due to Wildfire Risk

Due to the current and escalating wildfire risk to the community, unauthorized vehicle access to the estuary via Bailey Street will be closed.  The closure area is delineated in red within the image below.

All vehicles currently within the closure area are asked to leave the unpaved portion of Bailey Street immediately. Barriers will be installed within the next 24 hours.

The road closure is part of the District of Squamish’s ongoing response to the wildfire risk to the community and declared state of emergency within the Province. The most recent danger class value for Squamish from BCWS is high (WFWX - Fire Weather Danger Class Report).

The closure follows the recent bans by the Province of BC and Squamish Lillooet Regional District on off road vehicles in most fire centre areas (BC Gov News and SLRD Wildfire Updates - 2026 | Squamish-Lillooet Regional District).
