Heat warning issued for Howe Sound

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Howe Sound with high temperatures expected through Thursday. Daytime highs are expected to be in the low to mid 30s with overnight lows in the mid teens.

What you can do: 

• Check on family, friends and neighbours, who are at higher risk, particularly if they live alone, to make sure they have a cool space.
• Watch for the effects of heat illness: heavy sweating, rash, cramps, fainting, high body temperature and the worsening of some health conditions.
• Keep your home cool. Turn on your air conditioning (if possible), block the sun by closing curtains or blinds, or relocate to a cooler location such as a basement or air-conditioned space.
