Notice of construction and parking lot closure
The District has issued a demolition permit for construction work to begin at 38123 Cleveland Avenue, anticipated to start on Friday, July 10.
As a result the 2-hour parking lot at Cleveland Avenue and Winnipeg Street, where Corsa Cycles had generously offered courtesy free parking, will close.
Below is a reminder of the free municipal on-street and off-street parking available in the Downtown core:
2 and 3-hour free parking
- Parking lot - 38174 Cleveland Avenue (across from the Co-Op gas station): 2-hour parking
- Parking lot - 37950 Cleveland Avenue (adjacent to the Copper Coil restaurant): 3-hour parking
- Parking lot - east end of Main Street (adjacent to X̱wún̓eḵw Park) – 3-hour parking (Expected re-opening later this summer)
- Street parking – Cleveland and Second Avenues plus cross streets (except Victoria)
Longer-term free parking
- Street parking - beyond the main commercial area (past Second Avenue)
- Gravel lot near the BC Hydro site at the north end of Downtown
