Wildfire Alert: Cheekye Forest Service Road

BC Wildfire Service is attending a wildfire off the Cheekye Forest Service Road, across Highway 99 from Brohm Lake.

 

According to the BC Wildfire Service, the wildfire measures 0.3 hectares. No structures or infrastructure is at risk. A BC Wildfire crew is on site and a helicopter is bucketing water from Cat Lake. It is highly recommended to stay out of the lake while this work is underway.

 

The wildfire is outside of District of Squamish boundaries. Squamish Fire Rescue is on standby to assist if needed.

 

Please avoid the area. Motorists should not stop on the highway to view the fire, as this poses other significant risks.
