Do you have a passion for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants in aquatic activities as well as performing lifeguarding, instructions, and custodial work? The District is seeking Lifeguards to join our Recreation Department who can provide a safe, fun and engaging experience for all participants. Click here to find out more!

Squamish Recreation and Culture have been offering bus trips to members of our 55+ for more than 4 years. Our community of qualified volunteer drivers makes this bus trips possible, at a reduced rate for all participants. We are hosting *free Class 4 driver courses to grow our volunteer driver
base. This course will allow participants to obtain an Unrestricted Class 4 Driver’s License, in order to safely drive our program van which safely accommodates up to 14 passengers.

The District of Squamish will reimburse you for the approved course and exam fees (approximately $490) as follows: 50% upon successful completion of the Class 4 road test, 50% upon meeting the commitment outlined above.

Contract Instructor Information

Do you want to get paid to do what you love? Become a Contract Instructor for Squamish Recreation & Culture! We are actively recruiting for 2024.

Squamish Recreation and Culture is looking for passionate, fun and community-minded individuals with the skills, knowledge and qualifications to instruct programs, workshops or single/one-time events.

If you are interested in teaching:

  • Dance for children and youth,
  • Yoga for all ages,
  • Senior weight training,
  • General programming for ages 55+,

  • Liability Insurance
  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
