RootWave is an electrical weed control method. This method has benefits on the control and eradication of invasive plants. Electrical weed control works by making the plant part of an electrical circuit and passing a current through the roots causing lysis (cellular disruption) and proceeds to kill the plant. The process of using electrical current for weed control is referred to “electrocide” or digital weed control.
Electrocides are an effective, efficient, and ecology sensitive method of killing and controlling invasive, noxious plant species. This effective method is set to control a vital and integral part of any integrated pest management program. In most cases only a single treatment is required, as the treatment is selective. It is possible to treat a singular plant even if it has grown among others.
In many cases electrocides are not only proving to be more effective than chemical herbicide applications-they have shown reduced treatment cycles, no adverse effect on soil or other plant life, and does not release any potential toxic chemicals into the environment.
